I would definitely have to thank my parents for establishing my current values and goals in me. But I must also thank my teachers for educating me and showing me the way towards success. Though I must say that I haven’t reached that point where I can sit back and say that I am now successful, I am glad to be as far as I am now. Having these goals to buy a house, retire with a comfortable nest egg, and all the other goals you may, are all very important. It is these goals that keep you striving and moving in the right direction.
Both my parents and teachers educated me early on the necessities to achieving success. Basically they pointed out that it takes “hard work and dedication.” I am sure most of us have heard this a thousand times, but sometimes it never really sinks in until it’s a bit late. I, on the other hand, had incredible goals at a young age… and I took that saying to heart. I was already a penny pincher when I was first earning my weekly allowance for doing house chores. While other kids bought little toys and gadgets, I saved to buy something big that I had my eye on, (even if it took me months to save for that new Street Fighter game). I am still that same little kid… just working harder and saving more. I have never been real big on splurging or dumping my petty cash on small unnecessary things. This attitude towards my hard earned money has helped me tremendously with my finances. But now instead of saving for that new video game coming out next summer, I am now watching the housing market to find a good time to get in and get that first house. Don’t think that I’m done there though…
I still have an exotic convertible and retirement nest egg to work for. It’s all about having big goals!
