How the heck do you figure out your taxes? Do you do them yourself or do you take them to a friend or service?

The subject of taxes is probably one of my least favorite subjects to talk about. The funny thing about taxes is that in my current job I am not allowed (at least we won’t attempt) to give tax advise. This is due to all the different scenarios, qualifications…etc that different securities propose when investing. And since I am able to see the complexity that this brings, I get my taxes done at a tax service center. I have a basic understanding of taxes, but the “tax guy” is always able to find something that I miss. This sometimes costs me a little more, or it may put more money in my wallet. My biggest concern is that it is done correctly so that I don’t have Uncle Sam chasing me around saying I own him more money.
